I am concentrating at the moment on still lifes, some tightly rendered and recently experimenting with a looser style combining brushwork with a palette knife going away from the traditional way of rendering a realistic painting. The hunt for interesting, sometimes unusual objects and creating good compositions are all part of the pleasure and challenge of still life paintings. I like to intersperse my still lifes with other subjects such as figurative and animal portraits.
